At Laurentian Woodworks, we specialize in creating handcrafted hardwood products for your kitchen, entertaining, and decorating needs. We are a small operation with a big passion for making beautiful, useful and fun things out of wood. What's behind the name Laurentian Woodworks?
The Laurentians are a beautiful mountain range in northeast Canada, running along the north side of the Saint Lawrence River (hence the name) and were a special place to my parents. Having grown up in Montreal, my parents and grandparents regularly escaped the hustle and bustle of city life to spend time in the serenity of the mountains and the woods.
I didn't seriously take up woodworking until I retired from corporate life - and was inspired to give it a try because my parents instilled in me the willingness to try new things and take on new adventures. And then I fell in love with it!
I chose the name Laurentian Woodworks as a way to honor my parents' memories and to hopefully inspire others to find new adventures to pursue in life.
